The Calculation

Wed Oct 7, 2009, 5:06 PM
(And we called that calculation perfect love)
---
Guess it's been a while. I promise one day I'll post something. Really! It may just be icons-- I have a few dozen in store-- but that's not really art. Getting better, though.

My birthday's coming up on the 20th, and I still don't know what to do with it. Not a real big change from the last three years. xD Maybe I'll go watch some movies.

Same with Halloween. And now I don't even have anyone to go trick-or-treating with anyone. D:

October comes with a couple of book releases I'm looking forward too, like double releases of Tsubasa an' such. And that means I'm close to NaNoWriMo! So hopefully, ideas will make temselves pleniful.

Homework and college and band's got me weighted down for now, but it can only get better, right?

On Any Given Day

Sun Apr 19, 2009, 2:04 PM
(You wrote a note with chalk on my door, a message I'd known long before-- on any given day, you'll find me gone)

--
My muse is powered up! My mind is whirring! My pencil is sharpened! So why can't I write anything? The only thing I need is some PLOT. O GREAT GODS OF WRITING, BESTOW UPON ME A GRAND PLOT, FULL OF INTRIGUE, MYSTERY, ACTION, AND DEEP PHILOSOPHICAL IDEAS. (Fat chance, huh? How about one about a lost puppy who finds his way home? 8D)

Besides that, my life needs some balancing. So here goes.

*Things to look forward to:
- OHMIGAWDOHMIGAWDDISNEYLAND. MICKEY MOUSE AND SIMBA AND INDIANA JONES. SO EXCITED.

*Things to dread:

Check Yes Juliet

Sat Apr 4, 2009, 7:25 PM
(Lace up your shoes. Here's how we do: Run baby, run. Don't ever look back)
---

I'm so skilled. So, see, I like the dorky English theme songs to anime. Pokemon and Digimon and such like-- hey, they're so darn CATCHY. And I search for hours trying to find MP3 files of these dorky songs. And then I realize I can use my handy-dandy YouTube converter in tandem with my audio ripper, and viola!-- DORKY SONGS POR ME! 8DD

So clever!

Anywho, I think I'm in nostalgia mode. Detective Conan, Tsubasa Chronicles, Card Captor Sakura, Digimon-- heck, I'm even up for some Sailor Moon! However, I really do need to get on some of those new chapters/episodes of Reborn...xD

Another thing I need to crack down on: writing. Really, man, you gotta get on that! Stop watching anime and WRITE SOMETHING. BNFASF

Also, I promise to post something on this account. This account that I've had for five years now. >.< SOMEDAY.

Other than that...hope everyone's having an awesome Spring Break. xD

Life in Technicolor

Mon Dec 22, 2008, 8:24 PM
(There's a wild wind blowin' down the corner of my street. There's a cold war comin' on the radio I heard-- Baby, it's a violent world.)

--

I've found that I'm definately in my nostalgia phase right now. I'm re-watching old anime, re-reading old books, remembering, reconciliating, reflecting. I've been thinking about getting in touch with some old friends, and I find myself digging through old photos.

I like the fact there is a future, and that there will always be a past. As for the present, ahhhh, I'm not so worried about that. xD There's only so much time the present lasts for, after all. (I don't mind where I am, because I know where I've been!)

Ahhhh, Winter Break. Time to relax, let go, and have fun. Write. Catch up on some reading. Have some family time. Work on some projects.

That's the life.

Happy holidays, every one.

Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn

Thu Nov 20, 2008, 7:08 PM
(Serious as a heart attack)
--

Today, I wanted to be an animator. The next Disney or Miyazaki-- that's what I'm going to be! The Academy Award for Best Animated Picture in my hands-- "I want to thank all the people who got me this far, and everyone who has supported me through all of my endeavors!"

And then my Inner Voice (Fred, or Ted, or maybe even Billy Bob Joe-- he tells me everytime, I never remember) says, "You dumbass, you can't draw."

And I say, "Oh. Oh yeah."

And Morty or Bill says, "No shit, Sherlock."

And with that disparaging note from Inner Me, I find I have to chuck the images of fame and fortune and that oh-so-pretty brass statue out the window-- and, even more heartbreaking, the promise of making said award-winning animation. Le sigh.
It'll never see the light of day.

So I think I'll try to paint those same scenes with words, though they might be considerably more cluttered and...wordy. That's the only way they'll see light, anyway.

But you know what? My words have their own kind of charm. My words draw a different picture; like watercolor to painting. They both capture the subject well enough, I think.

The world is my oyster, and it's full of pearls.

And you know what? Screw you, Joel or Will or Mike. Next year, I'm taking life drawing. So bite me.
